The anticipated TTRPG system from Darrington Press, Daggerheart, is now available to pre-order. The new system — penned in part by Matthew Mercer of Critical Role — is finally heading to the presses following a free open beta period. Darrington Press hasn’t announced an exact release date yet, but has landed on a Spring 2025 launch window for the Daggerheart Core Set. The Core Set comes in two flavors: a $59.99 basic set, or a more comprehensive $149.99 limited edition. While Daggerheart is shaping up to be a little heavier on the math than a system like D&D, we were impressed by Daggerheart’s intuitive character- and world-building systems during our time with the open beta. The final version of the game is likely a very different beast compared to the beta. However, if you’d like to learn more about the game before committing to a pre-order, the open beta playtest is still available to download for free from DriveThruRPG and Darrington Press.
